Let's Keep Vermont Compost Clean

Vermonters are doing a great job keeping food scraps out of the trash, but sometimes things end up in our food scrap bins that shouldn't be there, like plastic bags or PLU stickers from fruits and vegetables.

Composting the wrong things can contaminate soils and even impact the health of animals. Peel off plastic stickers and remove plastic bags to ensure clean compost.

Clean food scraps in compost means clean soil, clean farms, and clean food. If you can eat it, you can compost it.

Composting food scraps is good for Vermont soil. Let's do our part to keep Vermont farms growing.
